This is so cool. I think of it like a mega updated version of that playstation eyecam thing. the camera monitors your finger tips to see how you want to interact with the current interface. Click the link to take a closer look, its even being used for a boxing game by the looks of it, could this rival the wii? seeing as you dont need a controller i think if a gaming platform introduced this it may just do that...

Like you said, very Playstation iCam. I've never really played the wii much but it's the level of interaction that makes it so fun, so what's the next step? We're controlling games using the motion of our hands but I can't work out what they intend after that. Possibly interacting with virtual 3d projection such as holograms that can be controlled using our mits? I mean it's possible already but for the technology not really allowing for a cost effective commercial approach.
I understand what your getting at, i really cannot imagine it being cost effective. Yet to start with not much technology is, it gets cheaper the older it is. So we may see interacting with 3D holograms but for a everyday market i think it will be a fair few years before its implemented.
Regarding the 3D hologram things, check out these 3D displays... Link
